Dette er Sleneset!

Sleneset er fellesbetegnelsen på de to befolkede øyene, Straumøya og Moflaget. og ligger i det som beskrives som Solværøyene .                                                                                                                                

Sleneset ligger i Lurøy Kommune, Helgeland og det er ca. 300 mennesker som er fastboende. I sommerhalvåret og da spesielt i ferietiden økes denne befolkningen betraktelig da med feriegjester og turister. Sleneset og Solværøyene er  også en populær plass for fritidshus eiere. Her er fritidshus-eiere fra så og si hele landet.                                                

Totalt består Solværøyene av 1841 øyer, holmer og skjær.                                                                                    Fra gammelt av så bodde de fleste av Solværøyenes befolkning på de største av disse øyene og folkene livnærte seg av fiske og et lite bruk hvor de hadde en ku som ga melk, smør og kjøtt, høns som la egg, får som ga ull og kjøtt, gris som ga flesk og kjøtt. På femtitallet startet prosessen med fraflytting av disse utværene. Dette medførte at på 50 - 60 - 70 og 80 tallet ble øyene fraflyttet og folkene bosatte seg for det meste på Straumøya og Moflag. Enda, den dag i dag finner man tuftene av denne bosetningen på øyene.    

På Sleneset , eller på Titten som vi sier her, så har vi mat/dagligvare butikken Joker,  hvor det aller meste av dagligvarer finnes og hvor det også er post i butikk.  Her finner man også diesel og bensinpumpe samt skiftning/innbytte av gassflasker. 

På Fjær Kroen, som ligger i samme bygning som Joker får man kjøpe seg varmretter, smørbrød, kaffe med tilbehør og Fjær Kroen har også rettigheter for servering av alkoholholdig drikke. På Fjær Kroen har også Posten ut og innlevering av pakker. 

Solværøyenes Kunstforening har utstilling flere ganger i løpet av sommer/feriesesongen. På Brukt Boden, som har åpent visse dager i uken finner man et utvalg av mange og nyttige artikler.                                            Sleneset ligger like sør for Polarsirkelen og det tilsier at vi har Midnattssol (dette p.g.a. lysbrytningen i atmosfæren) i ca. en og en halv uke før sommersolverv og en og en halv uke etter sommersolverv. Det betyr også at vi aldri "mister" solen på de korteste dagene før vintersolverv.

Sleneset is the common name for the two populated islands, Straumøya and Moflaget. and is located in what is described as the Solvær Islands. At Fjær Kroen, which is located in the same building as Joker, you can buy hot dishes, sandwiches, coffee with accessories and Fjær Kroen also has rights to serve alcoholic beverages. At Fjær Kroen, Norway Post also has out and delivery of parcels.

Sleneset is located just south of the Arctic Circle and this indicates that we have Midnight Sun (this is due to the refraction of light in the atmosphere) for approx. one and a half weeks before the summer solstice and one and a half weeks after the summer solstice. It also means that we never "lose" the sun in the shortest days before the winter solstice.
